Requirements for the COURAGE Program Application

• A Curriculum Vitae

• Application package (5 pages max, single space, 11 pt font) that includes all of the following:

  • Personal statement to describe career goals, research experience, areas of interest, and interest in the program

  • Description of current research project and 5-year academic goals

  • Identification of areas of concentration to achieve those goals (e.g., skill-building, knowledge acquisition, personal development)

• 2 letters of recommendation:

  • Primary mentor

  • Department chair or division/unit chief which verifies current position protects at least 50% of their time for research
